Not everyone is a good candidate for hair transplant surgery and different patients achieve different end results. You must understand that hair transplant surgery should always be your last resort after all attempts to stop the progression of your hair loss have been exhausted.
There are the six important factors that make an individual a good candidate for hair transplant surgery are as follows:
|
|
The overall quality and abundance of existing hair is most
important.
Men and women has black, wavy blond or gray hair, who have
balded slowly, and whose relatives experienced only limited hair
loss.
Men and women in their 40s.
People who are in their
20s are more difficult since the future pattern of hair loss is
unknown.
Pattern has stabilized.
Men who have been losing their hair
due to male pattern baldness for more than five years or who
have progressed to class 3 or above on the Norwood Scale, whose
pattern has stabilized.
Boding area is not too large.
If your boding area is too
large, most likely the hair transplant doctor will only do a
small frontal section since not enough hair is available to
cover the rest.
Men and women who have realistic expectations
and who
understand that their hair loss might continue to progress after
surgery, even if they are taking prescription medication to stop
this progression. Some people have to continue these medications
after surgery to retain as much of their hair as possible.
Men and women who have lost hair due to trauma, burns or other cosmetic procedures such as facelifts.
