Effectiveness
Laser :
Hair follicle is shrink. The FDA says laser hair removal is a "reduction in the number of hairs re-growing." Hairs not at the anagen stage will grow back. Some will grow back softer, finer and lighter in color. Some are stubborn and laser may not be the best choice to remove it. 80-90% of candidates will need at least 4-6 treatments to experience 70-90% hair reduction.
Electrolysis :
The heat desiccates the hair follicle and it is killed. Electrolysis is the only method which has been proved to be permanent. Hairs not at the anagen stage will grow back and others may have been cycled out and not evident. You will see a slowing of hair growth. Those with moderate to severe hair growth may get frustrated due to the length of time.
Good Candidate
Laser :
Laser works best for the combination of dark hair and fair skin. It is not effective for grey, blonde, red or white hair.
Electrolysis :
It can be used on anyone despite their skin or hair color.
