By Sophie In a glossy magazine, I read about the latest in hair removal and it sounded brilliant. A course of treatments would mean I would never have to wax or shave again. So I looked up where I could have it done locally and found SkinGenesis. I went into the clinic for an initial consultation and signed up immediately to a course of Intense Pulsed Light.

My husband paid up front for 6 sessions and it was the Best Christmas present I have ever had! By summer my legs were hair free and I had the added bonus of soft, smooth skin which, I understand, is a side effect of the treatment. They advised me that some new hairs may appear over time but they will be very fine and will be easily dealt with - I won't have to go back to waxing.

I found it so easy to fit the treatments into my life as they never took more than an hour and were much more comfortable than waxing. The treatments themselves were a breeze! All I had to do was relax on a treatment bed while the therapist worked her way up and down my legs pressing the applicator against the skin and triggering the light. Sometimes the skin was a bit red afterwards but this subsided by the time I was home.

Even after just the first treatment, the hairs left growing seemed to be finer and less of a nuisance than they were before. After 6 treatments, I am hair free and can't believe how successful the course has been - my friend has already begun her course!
